U-GLOVE launched in November 2014 with a simple vision. We want drivers to be safer and healthier. We want to empower gas stations to create loyal customers and increase their sales. We want brands to get their messages seen. U-GLOVE does it all.
The inspiration for U-GLOVE came when Antonio Lyon and his wife, Lily, saw gas stations providing sanitary gloves in Europe while on vacation. They created their own version of the concept in the U.S., and today, U-GLOVE is available in more than 1,000 stations across nine states, growing every day.

ANTONIO LYON, FOUNDER & CEO

 

Antonio Lyon is the founder and CEO of U-GLOVE, Inc., a South Florida company aiming to make the world and the gas pump a safer place by keeping drivers clean while they fill up with gas.

The earliest seeds of U-GLOVE were planted during a 2008 family vacation to Spain. Along with his wife Liliana, who was then expecting their first child, Antonio was on guard against H1N1 and other local viruses. He noticed that gas pumps across Europe were carrying protective gloves and later found out they had been doing so for more than a decade.

With insightful vision, Antonio liked the idea of assisting drivers to stay clean at the pump and offering gas station owners a competitive advantage that would keep drivers coming back. He came up with the slogan – “compete beyond price” – that would become the business model for U-GLOVE. He complemented this cause with a purpose-driven advertising platform, where brands could ensure their messages were seen and absorbed in a positive environment with positive connotations, thus completing the company’s commitment to consumers, gas stations and advertisers.

Today, more than 1,000 stations have signed on with U-GLOVE, shielding approximately seven million drivers since Antonio launched the company with his South Florida-based team in November 2014.

Coming from the financial services sector, Antonio was with New York Life from 2010-2013 before the idea that would become U-GLOVE® became his full time passion.

Antonio holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida International University, and studied law at Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Venezuela. As an entrepreneur, Antonio has been featured in numerous media outlets, including CBS and the South Florida Sun Sentinel. A native of Venezuela, Antonio moved to the U.S. in 2006, marrying his wife and partner, Liliana, in 2008. They have two children and live in South Florida.

Liliana Lyon is the marketing coordinator of U-GLOVE, Inc., a South Florida company aiming to make the world and the gas pump a safer place by keeping drivers clean while they fill up with gas.

Liliana’s role with U-GLOVE is to relay the brand’s message of safety and further its identify as a purpose-driven advertising platform. This involves development and implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns, maintaining promotional materials inventory, planning meetings and trade shows, and overseeing production of marketing and advertising materials.

The earliest seeds of U-GLOVE were planted during a 2008 family vacation, when Liliana and her husband, U-GLOVE founder and CEO Antonio Lyon, were on a family vacation in Spain. With their son along for the trip and another on the way, the couple was more aware of the transmission of germs, and noticed that gas pumps in Europe offered protective hand-wear.

With insightful vision, U-GLOVE was born. Since then, Liliana has worked to further message of assisting drivers to stay clean at the pump and offering gas station owners a competitive advantage that would keep drivers coming back, all complemented with a purpose-driven advertising platform, where brands could ensure their messages were seen and absorbed in a positive environment with positive connotations.

Today, more than 1,000 stations have signed on with U-GLOVE, protecting some seven million drivers since the South Florida-based company launched in November 2014.

Liliana holds a BA degree in advertising from Barry University, where she graduated with honors, and is member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society. She and her family moved to the U.S. from Venezuela in 2002.

MANUEL JIMENEZ, OPERATIONS

 

Manny serves as the vice president of operations for U-GLOVE, Inc., a South Florida company aiming to make the world and the gas pump a safer place by keeping drivers clean while they fill up with gas.

With a focus on strategic planning, team development, supply chain management and project management, Manny has maintained an excellent track record of continuous improvements is cost, quality and efficiency to help U-GLOVE run successfully.

Manny joined U-GLOVE after retiring from the military as a Lieutenant Colonel and servings as a Leadership Professor at the U.S. Naval War College. While enlisted, Manny commanded one of the largest and most complex logistics organizations in the U.S. Army where he provided strategic direction in maintenance, supply chain, distribution & logistics operations overseeing more than 3,200 military personnel. This group was responsible for supporting systems and equipment valued at more than $5 billion and operating with an annual budget of more than $300 million in support of U.S. Operations is South West Asia.

Manny holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from IE Business School, a master’s degree in logistics management from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint Leo university, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He is also a decorated combat veteran, recipient of the U.S. Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star medal (twice), among others prestigious awards for exceptional performance.

Manny is also a proud father of two beautiful daughters named Lizzy and Alyssa.
